At Headstart Language in Singapore, we offer part-time Introduction to Thai courses for local and foreign students. You can learn Thai in a group or 1 to 1. This course will focus on the development of basic conversational competence in Thai at both formal and informal settings. Students will be able to build a good foundation in vocabulary and sentence construction through classroom activities that consist of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course is designed for students that have no prior knowledge of Thai language. The course also integrates various cultural elements that are related to Thai language into its syllabus. This will allow student to develop a much deeper understanding of the entire Thai language experience. By the end of the course, students will be able converse in Thai about simple topics related to their daily lives, as well as read and write sentences written in phonetic transcription using Roman letters.

One 1.5 hour session per week, for 8 weeks.
• To introduce students to the Thai vowels and tones. • To train students to construct simple sentences to converse using basic vocabulary and expressions related to day-to-day situations. • Can write simple sentences using basic sentence structures in phonetic transcription using Roman letters. • Can present information about oneself and some other familiar topics using a variety of words, phrases, and memorized expressions. • Can ask and answer a variety of simple questions. • To expose students to certain aspects of Thai culture and customs.
